2014!!!!!

Hello! I've been terrible at blogging this past fall. But really, a lot of things have been happening! Or actually, things were set into motion that will be happening this year. I got a promotion! Raygun is opening a store in the Crossroads Art District of Kansas City, MO at the end of March, and I will be heading down there to co-manage (with my fellow RYG/DSM coworker Suzanne) and do some buying! I'm beyond excited. I will be going to MAGIC (no, not The Gathering) in February with our other buyer Lucy to find some new brands to bring in specifically to RYG/KC! In March I will move, and I won't be alone.....my bf has agreed to leave East Coast to move back to the Midwest to live with me. We've been long distance for about 2 years, so it's a relief to finally end that chapter of our relationship.

Sooooo, that's what's been going on with me. Or what will be going on with me.

one does not simply WALK into mordor

Sorry....I'm watching The Fellowship of the Ring right now, because I'm sick and took a day off of work, and that part always makes me laugh. I have been quite a lazy blogger, and for that I'm sorry. But really, does anyone actually read this thing? I haven't been up to much, but I did dye my hair blonde, so that's something.

stitch

A few weeks ago this amazing little fabric/yarn/embroidery shop opened up in the East Village called Stitch. I went on their opening day and bought some amazing bamboo knitting needles and some embroidery supplies, but was surprised that there weren't that many people there. Little did I know, they were going to have a grand opening the following week. I was happy to see a huge turnout and I hope this shop thrives, because I love it! They have a selection of interesting printed fabrics, hundreds of colors of embroidery floss, shelves of quality yarn, as well as other supplies you might need, like knitting needles, embroidery hoops, embroidery needles, rotary cutters, etc.etc. They will soon be offering different classes, and have some couches and coffee if you just want to bring your project in there to work on. They also have a few sewing machines set up for you to use if you want to try sewing but don't have a machine. I can't wait to sign up for some of the classes and get my craft on!

Had to show off my new wedge sneakers from Nasty Gal's Shoe Cult. Love them.

vintage salvation

Suze & I did some coat modeling for Nikole (owner of Vintage Salvation). Even though it takes me a bit to come out of my shell and really get my "model" on, I had a lot of fun! Hopefully the shots turn out well and she sells a lot of beautiful, great stuff :)
